We're committed to children being happy, knowing who they are, understanding their gifts and approaching life with wonder, joy, humility, and a profound desire to contribute.

Our values of compassion, connection, collaboration, respect, kindness and mindfulness are interwoven into the curriculum of our school programs.

We know families are looking for schools that reflect their values and at Montara Kaimana School, we empower children and families giving them tools to be effective in adapting and thriving to the radically changing world around them.

We empower each child to be a creative, competent and curious explorer.

We do this through a uniquely designed curriculum with a focus on collaborative learning, whole child development, sensory explorations, social and emotional development, care for nature and an overall understanding of the importance of building not only kindergarten readiness skills, but life skills.

We follow the Reggio Emilia approach to learning.

This is a curriculum framework based on principles that have children and adults learn through an active process of exploring their worlds together. They exchange ideas, and learn from and with each other.

One of the key principles that you will find with a Reggio Emilia school is they hold a high image of the child, valuing children as already full of wisdom and knowledge. This has educators put more emphasis on really listening to the children and taking their questions seriously.

Children are encouraged to share their point of view, questions and thoughts, making them highly engaged and confident in their learning experience!

“Observe and listen to children, because when they ask "why" they are not simply looking for an answer from you. They are requesting the courage to find a collection of possible answers."
